The Tuscan and Umbrian countryside where the landscape has remained almost unchanged for five hundred years is some of the most photogenic in the world. It is a countryside famous for its rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards, and the quality of its diaphanous, enveloping, amber light. We will visit less famous and hidden places, small farms and vineyards, abbeys and churches, and medieval cities. Besides photographing, we’ll be able to sample the culture, cuisine, and wine of the areas—truly an experience for all the senses.
Joe Englander will lead a very small group on this tour exploring Italy’s best spring greens and wildflowers. Starting from Rome, we will travel the back-roads of Umbria and Tuscany, stopping in small villages and spending time around the less photographed but nonetheless extraordinary beauty of Italy.
