The Canadian Rockies are, without a doubt, some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Some magnificent areas are extremely popular and frequently visited; others, even more beautiful, are remote and their access is more difficult. The pristine alpine area of Lake O'Hara, for example, sits in a bowl not far from famous Lake Louise. So great is its beauty that the Canadian Park Service decided to totally eliminate vehicle access and to generally limit access to individuals with special permits. In the fall, the aspens and larches are a brilliant gold.
